It is surprising how many children don’t have a full understanding of where our food comes from! By visiting a farm they can see firsthand where and how they get their favorite foods. Taking children to the farm exposes to them to the understanding that plants are grown and meat comes from animals.

Green gate farm  has  now developed an educational program that is both fun and interesting for the children. It teaches children about farm life, farm animals and how they help us.

We would like to personally invite you and your class to spend some time on our farm. Bring your school group  to Green Gate farm and let them get "hook up" with their food, let them discover where the food  comes from .A visit to our farm present a great opportunity for your class to interact outside of the classroom .

A Farm visit may teach your child to understand:

1. Where food comes from( from farm to plate)

When your children pick food with their own hands, they learn to appreciate where food comes from and the        work involved in making every meal we enjoy. It also gives them a special connection to farmers that they              can’t experience at the grocery store. They can make the connection between what is on their plates at home          and how food is grown

2.  Farming and food production

 3  Healthy eating

One of the best ways to get kids excited about eating healthier foods is to let them go out and examine the        fruits and vegetables for themselves. When you take your children to pick their own produce, you expose them    to  healthier options and make it fun for them to choose delicious whole foods.

4. Greater sense of gratitude to Animals

Animals that are found in our farm includes:

     >  Rabbits

     >  Chickens( with some breeds found only on our farm)

     >  Ducks

     >  Turkeys

     > Goats and sheeps (coming soon)

After arriving we shall give you a short talk involving farm rules, farm     dogs and an educational talk about the  smaller animals listed above including what they are, what they eat, the proper names and how to hold          them. Each one will get a chance to hold and feed an animal of his/her choice and on a good timing egg    collection will also take place.our birds mainly lay during afternoon hours.
